Art that talks

My friend my friend who doesn't want his name mentioned just sent me a link to his new video. When I watched it, I got teary because... (and shit, why didn't I KNOW this) I finally know stuff. And ART is for SAYING STUFF. Good art says something. Bad art doesn't SAY ANYTHING.

All my life I've done art without having much to SAY (capital letters). But with the work I'm doing for school, and everything I'm thinking and talking about, I have TONS to say. Not just with poetry, but also with visual art, audio, video...

I can talk about all these concepts I'm collecting - the hidden cultural and economic issues about the body, love and fear, preverbal memories, the brain within the body, the huge clitoris, the virgin martyrs, cannibalism, embodied spirituality... I want to talk about all those things with visual art. I have really interesting things to tell people. This stuff isn't boring, and everyone relates to it, because everyone has a body. People like hearing about what I'm doing as much as I do. And I have a whole WORLD to talk to. I also have a world of media (isn't that the plural of medium?) at my disposal. Stuff I've never tried, like digital video.
